Licensing Advisory

An independent read on what you are paying for, what you are entitled to, and what to do at the next renewal.

We do not sell licences. That is the point — our advice is not shaped by what we would earn from the recommendation, so when the answer is that you should buy less, we can simply say so.

A licensing review reconciles entitlement against deployment against actual usage. Nearly every organization we assess is paying for seats nobody uses while being under-licensed somewhere that carries genuine audit exposure.

Outcomes

  • A complete inventory of what you own versus what you use
  • Overlapping and redundant subscriptions identified
  • A renewal position prepared well before the deadline
  • Documentation ready in the event of an audit

Capabilities

How we approach it

01

License position assessment

Full reconciliation of entitlements against deployment and usage, with the gaps in both directions identified — over-licensing costs money, under-licensing carries risk.

02

Renewal strategy

Renewals negotiated under time pressure go badly. We begin the analysis a quarter ahead so the decision is made against data rather than a deadline.

03

Agreement structure

CSP, Enterprise Agreement, and MCA-E suit different sizes and consumption patterns. The right structure depends on seat count, growth trajectory, and how much mid-term flexibility you need.

04

Audit preparation

Microsoft audits are document-driven. A current, defensible licence position turns an audit into an administrative exercise rather than an unbudgeted liability.

Deliverables

What you receive

Written, handed over, and yours permanently — whether or not the engagement continues.

  1. 01Entitlement inventory reconciled against deployment and usage
  2. 02Gap analysis covering both over- and under-licensing
  3. 03Renewal scenario model with recommendation
  4. 04Audit evidence pack

FAQ

Common questions

Do you sell Microsoft licences?

No. We are an independent consulting company, not a reseller. Our licensing advice carries no resale interest, which is precisely what makes it worth having.

How much do organizations typically overspend?

It varies far too much to promise a figure, and anyone quoting a fixed percentage before seeing your tenant is guessing. The causes are consistent though: seats for departed staff, duplicated capability across overlapping SKUs, and users licensed above what their role requires.

Can you help if we buy through someone else?

Yes, and it changes nothing about the review. We will also tell you plainly if your current arrangement is already serving you well.
